The Excelsior Resort is proud to be founder member of the Golf Club Pustertal Kronplatz.
This new golf course, which is situated in Riscone/Reischach at the foot of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz plateau, features 9 holes. You can reach it by car within 20 min. Having surveyed the ground with Geom. Hans Aschbacher, the two architects Alvise Rossi Fioravanti, Florence, and Golf Professional Baldovino Dassù, Milano, – an experienced team - were most concerned to ensure an environmental friendly layout to fit the golf holes perfectly into the attractive scenery.
A considerable attraction of the “KRONPLATZ” Course is the diversity of its landscape.
The large practice area has been relegated to outside the Club House Facilities. It contains a large practice with driving range, pitching- and putting green and a practice bunker; there will be a Golf Academy.
There is a small clubhouse were you can eat and spend some moments in total relax.

Mountain
The Dolomites are probably Europe’s most impressive limestone mountains. Since the 26th of June 2009, the Dolomites have become part of the renowned UNESCO World Heritage List. Right in the heart of the area where people still speak the ancient Ladin language lays the nature lovers ideal hiking landscape. The Natural Park Fanes-Sennes-Braies, one of Europe’s largest nature reserves and where you can still encounter marmots, chamois and ibex among others. The spectacular limestone mountains with its raged, often snow capped peaks set the backdrop for the walks that take you up to the high mountain pastures, passes and ridges, where myths and legends were born and were old traditions are still alive. Here nature is quite untouched. When summer arrives the snow starts to melt giving way to an eruption of colours as thousands of flowers start to blossom. The woods that have been silent for months also come alive with bird songs and the sound of running water, fresh and crystal clear. In San Vigilio directly outside the hotel you will find more than 300 km of paths and tracks for walking, hiking, trekking, nordic walking and jogging at the entrance to the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park. Besides detailed maps and useful advices the resort provides you vital trainers and alpine guides who will conduct you to the most fascinating places of our mythical mountains.
