Motorbike
Because of its vicinity to the Dolomitic mountain passes Passo Gardena, Passo Sella, Passo Campolongo and Passo Falzarego, San Vigilio is a strategic starting point for lots of motor bike tours. In the list of tours there are also Passo delle Erbe and Passo Furcia, which lead respectively to Bressanone and down to Isarco Valley and to Pusteria Valley. From San Vigilio it is also possible to tour the grand Dolomitic round trips and to reach Venice easily by taking the road through Cortina d’Ampezzo, the high street through Brunico and Bressanone, or by choosing an alternative route on less trafficated side roads. For quite some years by now, San Vigilio has been gathering point for groups of riders and motor-bike clubs such as the Alps GS-Contest in collaboration with the BMW Motorrad and the “Dolomites Harley Ride”, which assembles - every year in spring - riders from all over Europe to undertake the most beautiful tours in the middle of the enchanted Dolomitic peaks.
