Events

In wintertime San Vigilio offers a rich entertainment programme with shows, fun and cultural events. Between December and January, San Vigilio is site of the Snowboard World Championship and the Europa Cup men’s giant slalom, organized in collaboration with the “Al Plan Events” committee. In January, then, San Vigilio is ruled by ephemeral arts and decorated with snow-sculptures along its main road. Carnival in San Vigilio is one among the most fascinating festivities of the kind in the whole region. It involves hundreds of masks and carnival costumes, lots of allegorical carts, dancing groups and acrobats, which parade through the village streets playing games and music and trying to win one of the rich prizes. There is also a farmers’ market in the village centre, where the local farmers sell their home-made products. And, last but not least, there are concerts, folk-festivals and torchlight processions.
