Impressive loop hike with stunning views of the Dolomites. The main focus of the hike is the geological history of the Dolomites surrounding the Sass de Putia (Peitlerkofel). Participants will also learn about the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site and the protected areas in South Tyrol that were key to the region’s recognition as a World Heritage Site.
Organized by the Department for Nature, Landscape and Spatial Development of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano – South Tyrol and the Dolomites UNESCO Foundation.
Difficulty: Sure-footedness required. (13 km, 550 m elevation gain, approx. 4.5 hours walking time)

Route
Arrival by car or public transport (Würzjoch bus stop) via the SP29 road to the paid parking area at Würzjoch/Passo delle Erbe.
Good to know
Bring your own food and drinks (no mountain huts along the route). Don’t forget to carry enough water for the entire day.
Required gear: sturdy hiking boots and weatherproof clothing.
