For many years now, the country’s otherwise strict provincial and national food legislation has given mountain farmers and small Ladin producers the chance to make and sell their products. It was a wise decision which has enabled many small local delicacies to be produced once more, delicacies which would otherwise have been destined to remain confined to the family home and which, with no profit basis, also risked disappearing altogether. There are now a great many mountain farms in San Vigilio di Marebbe and San Martino in Badia which are combining their main activities with small scale local production ranging from liqueurs to mead, cheese to jam, natural creams to homemade juices. For its part, the tourist association regularly organizes food and wine excursions designed to introduce visitors to these small scale but tasty local products which take guests back in time to the flavors and aromas of yesteryear and give them the chance to take a piece of the most authentic Ladinia back home with them.  

Healing power of nature
Walk on meadows and pastures in the company of a herb expert and immerse yourself in the immense variety of nature. In addition to technical information, you will also receive lots of practical tips. After collecting herbs and medicinal plants such as dandelion and nettle and learning about their healing effects, you will also learn how to use them, for example by preparing a completely natural aromatic salt.
