Mountain tour that will take you through the realm of Fanes up to Monte Vallon Bianco (2684 m), a desirable peak with artillery base from the First World War. Shoulder your backpack and discover the world of our ancestors along the old military road!
From Alpe Fanes (2060 m) walk to Limo Pass (2,172 m). Then continue to Limo Lake, passing the former military barracks and descending to Alpe Fanes Grande (2102 m). Follow trail No. 17, then the old military trail (marked VB) to below Furcia Rossa 1. At the junction for the Furcia Rossa Bivouac, turn left, briefly uphill, and then downhill into the pronounced notch between Vallon Blanco and Furcia Rossa 1. Past a small suspension bridge, continue along the exposed trail, which with a few ups and downs leads to the summit cross of Monte Vallon Bianco (2684 m). From here you can admire a great Dolomite panorama and the remains of the former artillery base from World War I.The descent is by the same route as the ascent.
