Skiing in the Dolomites
Alpine and Nordic skiing

San Vigilio and San Martino, including the Plan de Corones holiday area, are one of the most popular destinations for a ski holiday in the Dolomites. The Plan de Corones, directly connected by cable cars to both areas, has been the leading ski resort in South Tyrol for years, while other notable ski resorts are only a few kilometers away. They can be accessed using public transport or taxis and the Dolomiti Superski skipass is accepted. There is no shortage of ski areas dedicated to families with children or for those who are skiing for the first time, while the option of renting skis, helmets and equipment allows you to find what you need right by the slopes. The same can be said for the ski schools, which are at your disposal to offer safety and skills and to correct any errors in technique. Growing interest in Nordic skiing has contributed to the growth in ski schools dedicated to this discipline, which offers you direct contact with real, authentic winter nature, almost always a stone’s throw from every inhabited center. For alpine and Nordic skiing, still the world’s most popular winter sports, San Vigilio’s installations are the undisputed pioneers. It was here that Erich Kastlunger installed snow cannons, an absolute first in Italy, programmed to guarantee the quality of the slopes. Over the years, San Vigilio and the Plan de Corones have earned a top place in the area of the upkeep and preservation of snow cover on the slopes. Just think that every night in winter, on the Plan de Corones alone, around forty latest generation snowcats work tirelessly so that the morning skiers have a real white carpet to ski down.
