“Ciaspole” is the local dialect word in South Tyrol for the snowshoes that the locals and mountaineers use instead of skis to move around without sinking into very deep snow. Modern techniques have made them very light and reliable and therefore suitable for hiking trips in areas of truly deep snow as well as general walking.
The large territories of the nature parks of Fanes Senes and Braies or Puez Odle, always abundantly covered in snow, become accessible in the middle of winter, to be discovered and experienced by fans of white, virgin terrains, either through simple walks or with more demanding hikes, even at high altitudes. Many tracks are similar to the summer ones and are therefore well signposted. However, the snow cover allows you to go to even the most hidden corners, just to enjoy the feeling of peace and solitude that the winter land can bring you. Similarly, hotels, accommodation companies and tourist offices regularly organize guided trips that allow even beginners to become accustomed to this ancient, original way of getting close to nature.
